Bravrr Raises $280k, Heads to China for HAX Accelerator Program
CANON CITY, Colorado, May 1, 2019 – Bravrr Inc., a diagnostic and therapeutic wearables startup that is currently developing technology to assess and provide therapy for bruxism disorder (unconscious teeth grinding), today announced it has raised $280,000 in funding from angel investors and the world-renowned HAX accelerator.
Bravrr's first product, BruxRelief, sits within the $102B global sleep market where Bravrr looks to disrupt the over $9B niche market of bruxism diagnosis and treatment. Over two years in research and development led to the invention of novel sensors which are now patent pending in the US and China. The initial device PCB, plastics, firmware and smartphone application are fully developed and ready for beta launch.
Lead investor, HAX, is a venture capital-based program dedicated to accelerating startups with a hardware element, giving founders the resources necessary to accelerate development and go-to-market. The world’s first and most prolific hardware accelerator, HAX is a two-stage program that starts in Shenzhen, China, and finishes in San Francisco. Companies that are admitted will spend four to eight months in Shenzhen co-developing technology, followed by two to three months in San Francisco, where they focus on business development, fundraising, and growth. With the help of full-time staff, mentors, partners, and startup community, HAX works with accelerator participants on developing a globally scalable business plan. To date, over 200+ companies have participated, with investment packages up to $250,000.
“Bio-sensor innovation and the broad adoption of smartphone technology is paving the way for a new generation of personal-health management solutions,” said Bravrr founder, Brock Predovich. “Our mission at Bravrr is to focus on the mind behind the disorders and illnesses we now face in the modern world. The new field of Epigenetics is demonstrating that the mind, our thoughts and beliefs, play an integral role in our health and longevity. Bravrr is developing smart wearable technologies to empower healthcare professionals and their patients in the assessment and holistic treatment of various illnesses and disorders.
“Our development time in Shenzhen will focus on physical models, technology iterations, user interaction studies, volumetric studies, marketing messaging, business plans and launch strategies, all key to the success of the Bravrr mission. HAX is the gold standard accelerator for emerging technologies like ours, and our team, our board, and our community of dental industry leaders couldn’t be more delighted for Bravrr to join HAX.”
During the last year, Bravrr has been operating from a rural tech community in Fremont County, Colorado, designated as the state’s second Technology Sector Partnership. “Although Bravrr has a distributed, international team, we were honored to have founder Brock Predovich headquartered in our rural co-working community,” said Brad Rowland, program director, FEDC TechSTART. “Bravrr represents a growing trend for entrepreneurs: lean, highly distributed virtual teams, built from the best resources around the world. Bravrr is proving that work-life balance can actually happen, even for high pressure tech teams in startup mode.”
